The Los Angeles Review of Books is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and disseminating engaging reviews, essays, and interviews on every aspect of literature, culture and the arts. In “Rorty and Post-Post-Truth,” Eduardo Mendieta explores how our current definitions of truth fit into the framework of today’s socio-political landscape. Mendieta’s Los Angeles Book Review essay reflects upon the work of philosopher Richard Rorty, who was associated with postmodernism, relativism, and the post-truth movement.
