Iris Marion Young (1949-2006)PIKSI has the honor of announcing the Iris Marion Young Diversity Scholars Fund. The scholarships will be awarded to each student admitted as a participant in the Summer Institute. The Fund will create a community of Iris Marion Young Scholars, thereby honoring this pioneering feminist philosopher.

Iris Marion Young made groundbreaking contributions to political philosophy and phenomenology. Her work spotlighted the importance of recognizing and honoring human diversity in all its forms. She bridged divides between different traditions in philosophy and between high-level theory and grassroots activism. In addition to her philosophical contributions, Iris Marion Young was a committed political activist, an inspiring teacher, and a loyal friend.

In its commitment to promoting diversity in the profession of philosophy, PIKSI manifests the spirit that Iris Marion Young personified. The generous contribution of an anonymous donor created the Iris Marion Young Diversity Scholars Fund. We welcome your contribution to the Fund. Your donations will help the Fund grow and allow the work of PIKSI to continue.
