Rusty is enjoying retirement in Gainesville, Florida, after a 32-year distinguished career with USX and 30 years in the U. S. Naval Reserve. He and his wife, Sally Foote, are active at Oak Hammock, a retirement community affiliated with the University of Florida. Rusty is chairman of the curriculum committee of the Institute for Learning in Retirement, serving community residents and seniors in the Gainesville, Fla., area.

Rusty, a life member of the Penn State Alumni Association, has endowed the Crawford Family Graduate Fellowship in Ethical Inquiry. He and Sally also established the Crawford Family Director’s Fund in the Rock Ethics Institute, a Trustee Scholarship in the College of the Liberal Arts, and a graduate endowment in honor of Dean Susan Welch.
