Graduate Research Assistant Opportunities
This job posting is currently closed.
The Rock Ethics Institute is seeking candidates for two to four one-semester full-time Graduate Research Assistantships beginning in the 2014 Fall Semester. We are looking for graduate students interested in contributing to one or more of our interdisciplinary ethics research initiatives: bioethics, food and ethics, climate ethics, global ethics, ethics education and moral literacy (including Pre K-12 education, with particular interest in ethics education assessment), critical philosophy of race, social media ethics, research ethics, and ethics and sexual violence
RAs will assist with research collaborations, help with curricular design, assist with the Institute’s emerging digital media campaign, attend the Rock Ethics Institute Fellows Seminar (meeting every two weeks in the Fall and Spring semesters), and participate in the planning and hosting of Rock Ethics Institute events. RAs will be assigned an Institute office space and will be expected to utilize this space during their assistantship.
Eligibility is limited to students who will be enrolled full-time in a graduate program at Penn State for the 2014/15 academic year. These Graduate Research Assistantships are funded for the Fall 2014 and the Spring 2015 semesters, with possible renewal of funding for additional semesters, at a grade level 13, half-time (20 hours per week).
Applicants should submit a CV, a list of two or three referees with contact information, a writing sample, and a cover letter detailing qualifications and discussing interests in relation to one or more of the above listed areas of Institute research. All materials should be submitted using the online form. Review of applications will begin March 5, 2014.
