Rhonda V. Magee
Professor of Law
University of San Francisco
In this interactive presentation, Professor Magee will illuminate the importance of mindfulness and inner work, and their relationship to the legal education and law practice in a time of social distress. Building on her work in The Inner Work of Racial Justice: Healing Ourselves and Transforming Our Communities Through Mindfulness (2019), Professor Magee's presentation will include discussion of how compassion-based mindfulness practices can support engagement in critical and sometimes difficult conversations surrounding issues of racial justice, and enhance teaching and learning for equity-awareness and anti-racist, pro-social action.
This event is the highlight of the Contemplative Colloquium of the Rock Ethics Institute and is convened by Jeremy Engels and Rob Roeser. Please contact Jeremy Engels at jdengels@gmail.com for more information.
