Catherine Wanner (Professor of History, Anthropology, and Religious Studies; Director of Paterno Fellows Program) will be presenting on her work “Empathy as Combat Capability, or How to Win the Peace in a Hybrid War.”The Moral Agency Workshop is an interdisciplinary ethics working group out of the Rock Ethics Institute. The workshop is a major part of the Moral Agency and Moral Development Initiative, which Daryl Cameron convenes as one of the Rock faculty members. The group brings together faculty and graduate students from a diverse range of disciplines (including but not limited to psychology, sociology, anthropology, media studies, philosophy, political science, linguistics, etc.) to both discuss readings and also workshop in-progress projects that would benefit from constructive interdisciplinary feedback. In past years, we’ve had a mix of faculty and grad student presenters from different departments and different universities (when we’ve integrated the workshop with the Expanding Empathy speaker series visitors).
