James Risser, Seattle University
James Risser, Professor of Philosophy, and Director, University Honors Program, Seattle University, is a former holder of the Pigott-McCone Chair of Humanities at Seattle University. He is the author of Hermeneutics and the Voice of the Other, and editor of Heidegger toward the Turn: Essays on the Work of the 1930s. He is the associate editor of the journal Research in Phenomenology and was co-director of SPEP from 2004–2007. He has recently completed a work titled Hermeneutics and the Life of Understanding.
