Dennis J. Schmidt, Penn State
Dennis J. Schmidt is Liberal Arts Research Professor of Philosophy, Comparative Literature, and German at Penn State. He is author of The Ubiquity of the Finite; On Germans and Other Greeks; Lyrical and Ethical Subjects; Between Word and Image; and Idiome der Wahrheit. He is the editor of the revised translation of Being and Time; co-editor of Difficulties of Ethical Life, and Hermeneutische Wege; and translator of Ernst Bloch’s Natural Law and Human Dignity. He has held visiting professorships at University of Freiburg, Germany, and La Sapienza, Rome, Italy.
