This summit will bring together representatives from leading prison education and reentry programs from around the country, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, government agencies, and state and local officials to develop a vision for the expansion Penn State’s Prison Education and Reentry Project.

The Prison Education Summit is organized by Efrain Marimon, an Assistant Teaching Professor in the College of Education and an affiliate faculty member of the Rock Ethics Institute at The Pennsylvania State University. Efrain develops community-embedded programs related to social justice, human rights, law, and education. He is the director of the Restorative Justice Initiative with the College of Education and the D.C. Social Justice Teaching Fellowship, and founded the Street Law Program at Penn State Law. He also conducts training on law-related education for international groups.
