Biography
Melissa W. Wright investigates the dynamics linking politics, economy, and culture in the urban landscape of northern Mexico and along its border with the United States. Currently, her work focuses on governance, state terror, and social movements around women’s, sexuality, labor, and indigenous rights in Mexico and across the Americas. Her field research shifts between sites in northern Mexico, the Mexico-U.S. border, and other regions in Latin America.
