Graduate Student Affiliates Program
The Rock Ethics Institute Graduate Student Affiliates Program is designed to support and connect Penn State graduate students from any field who are engaged in ethics-related research, education, or outreach. The program pursues this goal by supporting interdisciplinary, collaborative, and engaged ethics research; facilitating vital conversations on the role of ethics in all aspects of life; and promoting ethical reflection and leadership.
All Penn State graduate students pursuing ethics-related research, education, or outreach are eligible to become REI Graduate Student Affiliates. These Affiliates will receive several benefits, including being listed as Graduate Student Affiliates on the REI website; opportunities to participate in REI events and collaborate with REI faculty and other Graduate Student Affiliates on Institute-related activities; invitations to present research and connect with faculty mentors; and timely communications about REI events and activities. Graduate Student Affiliates are encouraged to publicize their REI affiliation in their email signatures and CVs and to acknowledge REI-related activities in publications, news releases, and other works to publicize the Institute’s work.
To apply for REI Graduate Student Affiliate status, applicants should submit a current CV and a one-page statement of interest to rockethics@psu.edu. The Institute’s Graduate Affairs Committee will review the requests and base their decisions primarily on the requestor’s current interests and/or potential to support the Institute’s mission.
