Biography

Nora Reikosky is assistant director of the Rock Ethics Institute and assistant research professor of public policy at Penn State. She previously served as visiting assistant professor of ethics and leadership at the University of Houston’s Hobby School of Public Affairs and earned a joint Ph.D. in education and political science from the University of Pennsylvania. Her research examines how wealthy private actors, particularly philanthropists and corporations, shape the priorities, purposes, and policies of public education. Drawing on normative and critical political theory, American political development, political economy, and critical discourse analysis, she studies the privatization of public education and the growing influence of public-private coalitions that position K-12 schools as sites of workforce preparation, with particular attention to the roles of class, race, and gender.
