State College Magazine features REI faculty member’s COVID-19 art initiative
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The January 2021 issue of State College Magazine features the Viral Imaginations: COVID-19 project as part of the magazine’s cover story highlighting artwork created during the pandemic.
Michele Mekel, Rock Ethics Institute affiliate faculty member and assistant director of Penn State’s Bioethics Program, is the project’s co-principal investigator.
The Viral Imaginations: COVID-19 project is an interdisciplinary initiative at Penn State that seeks to capture imaginative and artistic expression by Pennsylvanians in creative writing and visual art made in response to their first-person, lived experience of the coronavirus pandemic.
