Biography

Bill McLucas is chair of the securities department in WilmerHale, one of the top law firms in the United States. His practice focuses on securities enforcement, regulation, and litigation matters, and regulatory and government affairs.

Prior to joining the firm, Bill served as director of enforcement for the Securities and Exchange Commission for more than eight years, longer than any other enforcement division director in SEC history. He led numerous high-profile investigations and landmark enforcement actions, involving insider trading cases and proceedings involving public companies, investment banks, and accounting firms.

Penn State honored Bill as an Alumni Fellow in 1994 and Distinguished Alumni in 1996. He established the William R. McLucas Scholarship Fund in the College of the Liberal Arts and more recently, the McLucas Family Director’s Fund in the Career Enrichment Network. Bill has also supported the Political Science Board of Visitors Early Career Professorship.
