Lack of departmental diversity challenges police trust and legitimacy, Ben Jones tells Centre Daily Times
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — There are five police departments that serve Centre County, Pennsylvania, home to Penn State’s University Park campus. There are no Black officers on any of the forces, and there are few other officers who identify as a race other than white.
In an interview with the Centre Daily Times, assistant director of the Rock Ethics Institute Ben Jones says such a lack of diversity in the departments presents significant challenges.
